AIC joins hands with AMD and CSC to showcase high-performance server platforms and announce strategic directions for sustainable development at Computex 2023
05/31/2023
May 31, 2023 - Taipei, Taiwan] AIC Inc. (3693-TW), a global leader in storage and server solutions, announced its collaboration with AMD to showcase a series of high-performance server platforms from May 30 until June 2 during Computex 2023. AIC also made a joint announcement with AMD on May 31 at Computex about their initiatives to improve energy efficiency of servers, and use the high-quality steel and recycled materials certified by UL from China Steel Corporation (CSC) to fulfill corporate social responsibilities and their duties as corporate citizens.
AIC was proud of its long-term technological collaboration with AMD and showcased a comprehensive lineup of server solutions powered by AMD EPYC™ processors during Computex. From edge computing server, cloud server to HCI (hyper-converged infrastructure) server, AIC responded with its own solutions featuring AMD EPYC™ processors, and the EB202-CP, was the solution that attracted the most attention during the exhibition. Measuring only 22 inches in depth, the server chassis of EB202-CP has a hot-swappable SSD tray on the front side that customers may use to install EDSFF (E1.S of E3.S) or U.2 hot-swappable SSDs. The EB202-CP supports 4th Gen AMD EPYC processors built on “Zen 4” core architecture, currently the highest-performance server CPUs on the market . The server supports PCIe 5.0, offering up to 32 GT/s of data transfer speed, and operates at an unmatched level of power efficiency. Powered by 4th Gen AMD EPYC processors, the EB202-CP delivers high performance with low energy consumption, making it suitable for edge computing scenarios.
Low power consumption was one of the most prominent features, in terms of environmental sustainability, that AIC has managed to deliver through cross-industry partnerships when designing the EB202-CP. AIC has always been proactive in the support of sustainability and energy-saving strategies and is constantly looking for ways to incorporate them into product design. On May 31, during the Computex, AIC made a joint announcement with AMD and CSC to continue bringing energy-efficient and sustainable designs into the future for the sustainability of server products. CSC, on the other hand, produces steel materials that are crucial to a server, and AIC has opted for CSC's green technologies and sustainable solutions when designing server chassis and components. CSC pays particular attention to reducing energy and carbon during the production process, using highly efficient and environment-friendly equipment as well as technologies to minimize emission and treat pollutants. CSC has also passed UL 2809 certification and managed to increase recycled content from 12% to above 20%, both of which are prominent milestones to the organization's carbon emission reduction and environmental protection efforts.
Shun-Ying Liang, General Manager and Director of AIC, said, "The long-term technological collaboration between AIC and AMD has brought many highly acclaimed server solutions to the market. We will continue to build on top of this foundation and introduce more server solutions that run on AMD processors. We especially look forward to increasing the performance of AIC servers to the next level with 4th Gen AMD EPYC processors. In the meantime, AIC, AMD, and CSC will work closely together on the design of energy efficient server solutions that advance sustainability goals. AMD plays a critical role in our efforts, as its processors deliver high performance with low power consumption that help users reduce energy and costs. Meanwhile, CSC produces steel materials of exceptional quality that meet the world's environmental protection standards and requirements, which we find to be congruent with our pursuit for environmental sustainability. Through this trilateral collaboration, we are confident of making significant contributions to the sustainable and low-carbon transformation of the server industry."
Ken Lin, Senior Sales Director, Taiwan, Datacenter Solutions Group at AMD, said, "AMD is committed to delivering leadership innovation across the data center and The EB202-CP edge computing server, powered by 4th Gen AMD EPYC processors, not only offer incredible performance, outstanding energy efficiency and advanced security features, but also deliver excellent total cost of ownership (TCO).. AMD was proud to join AIC at Computex and deliver both the performance and efficiency needed to address customers’ most demanding compute and sustainability goals."
